The enforcement officers of the Labour Department are empowered to conduct statutory inspections on places of employment to ensure compliance of the provisions of the Employment Act 1955. At this seminar, employers will be provided with technical knowledge and reliable information to take effective remedial measures, methods and procedures including the best practices to fulfil their legal obligations to comply with the Employment Act 1955.
This seminar would also create in-depth awareness on the common non-compliances with the Employment Act to reduce the exposure of the employers to legal actions by the enforcement officers. Meanwhile the Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia has proposed major amendments to employment laws including the Employment Act 1955 which will have far reaching implications on private sector employers. The participants of this seminar will also be provided updates on the proposed amendments and effective remedial measures to overcome the possible challenges facing the employers.
Mr. Goh Seng Wing, the Senior Consultant - Industrial Relations of the Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) will be the speaker in this Seminar. In addition to his vast knowledge, skill and expertise to advise employers to ensure legal compliance with employment laws, Mr. Goh has extensive skill and experience in the field of human resource management. He has been conducting Human Resource Audits as a Private Compliance Initiatives (PCI) to assist employers to comply with the employment laws including the Employment Act 1955, the Industrial Relations Act 1967 and the Trade Unions Act 1959. As a former Deputy Director General of Labour, Semenanjung Malaysia, and a former Senior Director of Department of Industrial Relations, Malaysia, he has vast working experience in the interpretations and the implementations of the employment laws in Malaysia.
