Survey Summaries

MEF Allowances & Reimbursements Survey, 2015

MEF conducted the Survey on Allowances & Reimbursements among member companies on 11 June 2015. The Survey was carried out to provide companies with a comprehensive guide on the best practices implemented by companies on various types of allowances & reimbursements provided by companies to their employees.

Among the findings of the Survey were:
  • The average car mileage reimbursement provided to all levels of employees was RM0.64 per km while the average motorcycle mileage reimbursement was RM0.35 per km.
  • 29% of the respondent companies granted petrol card to the CEOs/EDs/MDs/GMs compared to 12.1% of the respondent companies which granted petrol card to the senior managers.
  • 41.3% of the respondent companies provided mileage reimbursements to the managers while 58.3% and 59.6% of the respondent companies granted the mileage reimbursements to the executives and non executives respectively.
