The Johor State Secretary, Datuk Ismail Karim has announced via the Southern Tigers Facebook page on Saturday that Sunday, 1st November 2015 was declared as a state holiday for Johor Darul Ta'zim. The public holiday was to commemorate Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) as Champion of the AFC Cup 2015 Final which was held in Tajikistan last night.
2. ...Member companies in Johor Darul Ta'zim with collective agreements or terms and conditions of employment which provide for paid public holiday on all public holidays as gazetted by the Federal or State Government will have to observe 1st November 2015 as a paid public holiday. Such member companies which need to operate on 1st November 2015 may either substitute the said public holiday, with the agreement of the employees, with another day as paid public holiday or pay the employee who works on 1st November 2015 the specified rate for work on public holiday.
3. ...Member companies in Johor Darul Ta'zim which by virtue of the Collective Agreements or terms and conditions of employment do not observe all the public holidays as gazetted by the Federal or State Government but observe only a specified number of public holidays, are not legally obliged to observe 1st November 2015 as a public holiday. Please be informed that the said public holiday is not under the ambit of Section 60D(1)(b) of the Employment Act 1955 as it is not declared under Section 8 of the Holidays Act 1951.
4. ...In the event that a member company observes 1st November 2015 as a paid public holiday and the said day is a rest day, the company shall by virtue of the proviso to Section 60D(1) of the Employment Act 1955 grant a paid public holiday on the working day following immediately the rest day for employees covered by the Employment Act 1955.
