An organization is responsible to ensure compliance with a number of labour laws and employment standards, ranging from fair employment practices, policies and procedures. Labour Ordinance (Sarawak Cap. 76) is one of the fundamental laws in Sabah that determines such practices and standards. The failure to comply with the Sarawak Labour Ordinance will bring about costly and time-consuming consequences.

Due to the recent unforeseen Covid-19 virus, employers are faced with many daunting issues which leads to cases being taken against them at the Labour Department, Sarawak. Despite so, an organization is still responsible to ensure that the welfare of the employees are well taken care of. Therefore, this training provides a golden opportunity for the participants to understand better the legal jargons and ways to comply with the Sarawak Labour Ordinance. During the training, participants will also be exposed to other related laws in the Ordinance. 
  • To highlight the various parts of the Labour Ordinance related to current issues;
  • To ensure participants gain clearer insights of the employers’ obligations under the Ordinance; and 
  • Skilling and upskilling of participants/ employers to implement related laws and procedures in compliance with the Ordinance.
