Objectives
The Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia (MOHR) has tabled the Employment (Amendment) Act 2021 for approval of the Parliament to amend the Employment Act 1955. MOHR has also proposed to amend the Trade Unions Act 1959 that change the way unions are formed and the way unions function.
The objective of the Workshop is to update participants on the amendments to the Employment Act 1955 and the proposed amendment to the Trade Unions Act 1959 which will have serious economic impact on employers in doing business.
The speakers of this workshop are YBhg. Datuk Hj. Shamsuddin Bardan, the Executive Director of MEF and Mr. Goh Seng Wing, MEF Senior Consultant – Industrial Relations.

DATUK HJ SHAMSUDDIN heads the MEF Secretariat with a team consisting of 30 professional staff and 20 support staff.
As the Executive Director of MEF, Datuk Hj Shamsuddin is entrusted with the full responsibilities of administrating the organization. His professional expertise for more than 30 years in the areas of labour legislations, human resources, education and business sectors in particular made him the sought-after resource spokesperson of the Government, the unions, industries etc.
 
MR. Goh Seng Wing
MEF Senior Consultant – Industrial Relations
(HRDF Cert. No.: TTT/0591)
The former Deputy Director General of Labour at Labour Department, Peninsular Malaysia. Since his employment with MEF in 2004, he has been conducting training courses in various topics relating to Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967, Disciplinary Procedures etc.
