Survey Summaries

MEF Survey on the Implementation of 1Malaysia Globally Recognised Industry and Professional (1MALAYSIAGRIP) Program
Published on 15 May 2015

MEF conducted the survey on 29 April 2015 to obtain feedback and comments from members with regards to the implementation of 1Malaysia Globally Recognised Industry and Professional (1MALAYSIAGRIP) Program.

The Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB) implemented the 1MALAYSIAGRIP Program on 1 March 2015. Under this program, 30% of the employers’ contribution of Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) would be used to fund the 1MALAYSIAGRIP Program. The Government would contribute RM150 million to 1MALAYSIAGRIP. The total target fund of 1MALAYSIAGRIP Program was RM300 million.

Some of the findings of the Survey were:

  • 48.6% of the participating companies were aware of the 1MalaysiaGRIP Program which introduced and implemented by PSMB with effect from 1 March 2015.
  • 81.4% of the participating companies did not agree that 30% of the employers’ monthly contribution of HRDF to be channelled to 1MalaysiaGRIP Program.
  • 58.3% of the participating companies were of the view that the employers should have the full authorities to manage the fund for their own employees’ benefits.
