In his congratulatory message, Dato’ Dr Syed Hussain said he hoped that under the leadership of YAB Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri, Malaysia’s reputation and excellence as a fast-developing sovereign nation would be restored and further enhanced despite the challenges of globalisation and the Covid-19 situation.

“We congratulate the new Prime Minister and we are confident that YAB Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri would be able to provide strong and able leadership to weather the challenges faced by the nation,” he said.

“As MEF, we are prepared to continue to provide feedback and cooperation to the government to ensure that our economy and the future of employers and employees in this country are well taken care of.

“MEF had always and will continue to provide unwavering support to the Prime Minister and the government and we hope that measures for the opening up of the economy and its recovery would soon be announced and implemented.

“Employers, especially the SMEs and micro enterprises, are desperately seeking for a light at the end of the tunnel, and to ensure their sustainability, we hope the government would consider providing additional support in terms of wage subsidy so that these employers could continue their operations and retain their employees.”
