The understanding and implementation of performance management system including the PIP programme is based on the proposition that on the one hand when employees know and understand what is expected of them vis-à-vis the company’s performance goals, and having taken part in the process of forming these expectations, they will then perform their task to meet and fulfil these expectations. On the other hand employers too must know and be equipped with the necessary performance technical skills to be able to provide the required performance objectives, knowledge, tools and skills to the employees so that it will result in a shared understanding about what and how the expected performance is to be achieved. |
