The new Employment Act 1955 (Act 265) and the Children and Young Persons (Employment) Act 1966 (Act 350) book published by MEF has incorporated the latest amendments under: (a) the Employment (Amendment) Act 2022 (Act A1651) which comes into operation on 1 September 2022. Also incorporated is the First Schedule to the Act as amended vide Employment (Amendment of First Schedule) Order 2022 [P.U.(A) 262] dated 15 August 2022 which, inter alia, stipulated that any person who has entered into a contract of service is an “Employee” within the meaning of the Act 265; (b) the Children and Young Persons (Employment) (Amendment) Act 2010 (Act A1386) and the Children and Young Persons (Employment) (Amendment) Act 2019 (Act A1586) which came into operation on 1 February 2019 with the introduction of – (i) the 4th Schedule – List of Hazardous Work in which Children and Young Person shall not be engaged in; and (ii) the 5th Schedule – List of employment in which Children and Young Person shall not be required, permitted or engaged in. |
